* Update *
Gamer Testing Ground site no longer exists.
I have removed all the links to this site as it is now some sort of paid survey site.

Gamer Testing Ground is an online membership site where you have the choice to sign up to a 6, 12 or 24 month subscription.
The reason for the membership site is because unlike other manuals you can buy online, the information at ‘Gamer Testing Ground’ is constantly updated with more resources and information being added.
This for me is one of the main reasons I recommend this site so highly. The material is fresh, up to date and constantly growing.
Once inside the membership site the navigation is very straight forward. Basically there is one long page that contains all the information and resources you need.
Instead of reading through a 20 page report, you literally scroll down through the material.
Here is the table of contents:
As I said, it reads just like a report but all the content is online and on one long page.
The first few parts of Gamer Testing Ground is all about what is involved with becoming a tester and the sort of person you need to be to get such a job.
A burning passion for playing video games with an eye for detail are 2 essential qualifications.
I liked the fact that there is a section dealing with Resume Building. It is often an overlooked part of becoming a video game tester but is certainly an area that you’ll need to work on.
Creating a quality resume will help you get noticed and there is a section listing a few good resources to post your resume to.
The main crux of your membership however will be taken up with Part 7 – Big Companies That Are Currently Hiring.
I must admit I have not seen a resource list as long and as comprehensive as this before.
And the good news is, the resource list is constantly being updated and added to, as more companies offer game tester jobs.
Just like every website and product I’ve reviewed, this is what you’re really paying for; a resource list that only contains quality and legitimate companies who recruit video game testers.
But because Gamer Testing Ground is online, the resource list and other useful info can be updated instantly.
The final few Parts to the membership site contain some extra money making resources playing video games, using Ebay and some places online where you can get some cool, free stuff!
Free Giveaway Events

This is a really cool idea and a great opportunity to win a Playstation 3 or similar console if you already have a PS3.
When you join Gamer Testing Ground you automatically go into the competition which is run every couple of months. If your name is pulled out of the hat you win! Simple. Now how’s that for a cool bonus?!
Guarantee
Although it isn’t stated on the homepage, Gamer Testing Ground offers an 8 week 100% money back guarantee. You can read about it on the FAQs page.
Conclusion
I was very impressed with the set up and resource list that Gamer Testing Ground offers. But the biggest plus to this site is the online accessibility and the constant updated information.
If you are serious about becoming a video game tester, then you need this info.
Even if you’re just curious about getting a job as a game tester, the current membership price is low enough for you to try it out.
Gamer Testing Ground comes with a good recommendation!

I would love to try out this field im about to graduate high school. I already play games for hours at a time im normaly very good at them and also finding glitches. My best games are first person shooter, racing (need for speed style), and RPG’s. Thanks you for your time hope to hear back from you.
I also would like to test games. I play video games everyday of my life since i was six, and am very skilled at most games i play. The only thing, really, im worried about is the age, because im 16. If the age is 18 then i can wait 2 years no problem. But if its 15 and older then i want to start as soon as possible. Also, i read that you dont need a college education with intrested me the moment it caught my eye.
Hi guys, thanks for stopping by and submitting your comments. I get tons of requests from people who want to start work as a game tester but are not yet 18. Unfortunately no company will or can employ you until you are 18 years old.
My advise would be to study the industry as much as possible so that you can show a potential gaming industry employer that you are keen and already have some sound understanding of what is involved.
I’m not the best videogame player but I would like to make extra money.
