Welcome to ProGameTester.com

If you are really serious about video games, (i.e you are good at them and love playing them for becomeagametesterhours at a time) then there are companies out there that will pay you for your services as a beta tester.

Depending on what you are asked to do, and your level of experience, your income can range anywhere from $10 to $50 an hour or even more!

This sounds like a dream job right?

Well yes and no. Remember, there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

Breaking into the world of game testing is by no means an easy task. You’ll be working with multi-billion dollar companies such as Nintendo, Sony, Blizard, Kanomi and dozens more, who can afford to be very selective with the people they employee.

If you don’t know what you’re doing or what information you’ll be expected to know…you will have no chance in this industry!

The hardest step of all is getting your very first job. Once you achieve that, future jobs will be easier to come by.

If you’re new to the world of video game testing, and quite like the idea of becoming a game tester, I recommend you read some of my articles to give you a better understanding of what is entailed.

If you just want to dive right in and learn how to get a job as a video game tester, then please read my reviews of the top sites that act as a ‘middle-man’, in providing you with up-to-date job openings with the various game companies.

Here’s a video from some employees at Sony. As you’ll hear, it’s not all roses being a tester … but it’s the best job I’ve ever had! Check it out:

As much information as I can give you here, the video game industry is always changing and new jobs appear on a daily basis.

It is important you keep up-to-date with new findings and new job vacancies as they arise. That’s why I highly recommend one site in particular that delivers the best information for you.

I have personally contacted the owners of all the websites below and have spent many hours reviewing their products and services.

Believe Me, Not All The Advice Out There Is Worth Listening To!

A lot of information about becoming a game tester that I’ve read over time has been pretty useless and often misleading.

However I have found some really cool sites that have the necessary information, help and support you need, to get a video game tester job.

Just to let you know, my favorite site out of all the ones I’ve reviewed is (still): BecomeAGameTester

The guys who run this site do a great job in updating the information to keep it fresh and current.

Not only do you receive timely help and support, you also get a detailed guide on the exact steps you need to take when applying for game testing jobs.

The other sites are by no means second rate. There are some pros and cons with all of them.

The most valuable aspect of these sites is the ability to provide constant, update information.

As a brand new, budding video game tester, fresh job vacancies is what you REALLY need to be aware of, and that’s what makes the top 2 of these sites better than the rest.

Do Your Homework

The best advice I can give you, is to do some research on the subject. The very fact you’re on this site shows that you’re committed and you’re looking for more information.

The problem is you could spend hours searching online for help and information. So let me save you the time and trouble.

This Site Contains All The Information You Need!

As a game tester myself I know what works and what doesn’t. Believe me there is a lot of crap online that you really don’t need to know.

The articles I’ve written for this site should answer every question you have. If you’ve read any of them you’ll know I give straight forward, honest information that you can act on.

I’ve also researched the best online, video game tester resources and guides and written up my reviews for you.

My top pick, as I’ve already mentioned is BecomeAGameTester, but I’ll let you read the review, and the rest of them for yourself..

2. Game Tester Guide

Rating: 4 Stars out of 5

Summary: Game Tester Guide is exactly that – A guide book explaining how to become a game tester. It is written by a guy called Richard West and contains active links within the report that take you to online companies looking to recruit video game testers. Not quite as comprehensive as my top recommendation, but pretty good value for money and good customer support.

3. Video Game Tester Secrets

Rating: 3 Stars out of 5

video game tester secrets

Summary: Video Game Tester Secrets is a decent report that has some really interesting ideas about how to apply for game tester jobs, as well as where to apply. It contains plenty of fresh and innovative information that I haven’t seen in previous reports/guides and is worth the asking price. It doesn’t contain an up-to-date list of job openings, so you’ll have to do that groundwork yourself, but it does supply you with dozens of contact addresses.

4. Gaming Jobs Online

Rating: 1 Star out of 5

Summary: Unfortunately this site wasted half a day of my life in having to review it!It is a complete waste of money and will cost you $27/month. In fact it is a total scam – avoid it like the plague. If you want to know why it’s so bad, read my review. The only reason it got 1 star is because it offers a $1 trial and a money back guarantee.
